Mel is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with over 25 years of experience supporting adults with acquired communication difficulties. She has extensive knowledge of aphasia, dysarthria and dysphagia. She is a certified Lee Silverman Voice Treatment clinician - an evidence-based treatment for Parkinson’s disease.
Mel has held Clinical Lead roles within specialist neurological and neurosurgical centres and has worked in Early Supported Stroke Discharge teams . She has worked with both young people and adults affected by stroke, brain injury, brain tumours, and progressive neurological conditions. Her clinical expertise is matched by a deep commitment to person-centred care.
Mel is passionate about understanding each person as an individual and supporting them to maintain or regain what matters most in their lives.
