About The Speech Network - a Private Speech and Language Therapy Service based in Bath, England

The Speech Network is a private Speech and Language therapy service offering assessment and treatment for adults with communication, swallowing, voice or stammering difficulties.

We offer on-site care in Bath, Bristol and the South West, and Online Therapy internationally.  We also provide consultancy, training and supervision to the NHS, charities and healthcare providers.

We use evidence based techniques that yield successful results and are dedicated to providing the best possible patient-centred care.

We offer on-site care in Bath, Bristol and the South West, and Online Speech Therapy internationally.  We also provide Speech Therapist consultancy, training and supervision to the NHS, charities and healthcare providers.

CATHERINE CAWLEY MSC RCSLT HCPC ASLTIP

Our lead Speech Therapist, Catherine Cawley, is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with a postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy Sciences (MSc) and a Diploma in Counselling.  She has a specialist interest in neurological disorders, and a portfolio of high profile clients.

Catherine has over 12 years Speech Therapy experience working at both NHS and private hospitals including the world-renowned National Hospital for Neurology and Neurodisability, the Regional Rehabilitation Unit specialising in the treatment of complex and severe disabilities and as the Lead Therapist coordinating her team at the nationally recognised 'Best Stroke Unit in England' at Northwick Park Hospital. 

Catherine has Highly Specialist skills in the Gold Standard of swallowing instrumental assessments - Videofluoroscopy (swallow x-rays) - and Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES). 

She has been involved in international research projects for dysphagia and has presented her own research at national stroke and aphasia conferences.  She has trained in stammering at the internationally respected City Literacy Institute.

Catherine has a wide range of experience working with a variety of languages and cultures. She has worked and lived overseas in Bangladesh, Myanmar, Ghana and Japan. 

Catherine is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP) and is registered with the Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC).
